
Penanjong Garrison, Tuesday, 19 August 2025 – The opening ceremony of the Supervisors' Occupational Health and Safety Course Series 1/2025 was officially held at the Evolution Centre Training Institute, Royal Brunei Armed Forces. The course is organised by the Occupational Health and Safety Training Wing, School of Military Trade, Training Institute, Royal Brunei Armed Forces, and will be conducted over two weeks. A total of 22 participants are taking part, comprising 3 personnel from the Royal Brunei Land Forces, 10 from the Royal Brunei Air Force, 5 from the Special Forces Regiment, and 2 uniformed personnel from the Ministry of Defence, along with 2 civilian personnel from the Ministry of Defence.
The course was officiated by Captain Nurul Khartini bini Akui, Acting Head of Occupational Health and Safety Training Wing who emphasized the importance of cultivating supervisors as role models in ensuring workplace safety.
The objective of the program is to provide participants with the knowledge, skills, and awareness necessary to serve as effective supervisors in the field of occupational health and safety. The training modules will cover essential areas such as risk assessment, hazard control, accident prevention, workplace inspections, and compliance with safety legislation.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Acting Head of Training Wing highlighted:
“Workplace safety and health is not just a regulatory requirement, but a shared responsibility to safeguard the well-being of workers, ensure operational continuity, and improve organizational productivity. Through initiatives like this, we aim to strengthen the government's efforts towards building a safe, healthy, and productive workforce."
This initiative reflects ongoing efforts to support national strategies and workplace standards, ensuring that trained supervisors can play an active role in embedding a culture of safety within their respective organizations.
MAJLIS PEMBUKAAN KURSUS PENYELIA KESIHATAN DAN KESELAMATAN KERJA SIRI 1/2025
Penanjong Garison, Selasa 19 Ogos 2025 – Majlis Pembukaan Kursus Penyelia Kesihatan dan Keselamatan Kerja Siri 1/2025 telah berlangsung di Pusat Evolusi, Institut Latihan Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei. Kursus ini dikendalikan oleh Cawangan Latihan Kesihatan dan Keselamatan Kerja, Sekolah Pertukangan Tentera, Institut Latihan Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei dan akan dijalankan selama dua minggu, melibatkan seramai 22 orang peserta kursus yang terdiri daripada 3 anggota Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei, 10 anggota Tentera Udara Diraja Brunei, 5 anggota Rejimen Pasukan Khas, 2 anggota Kementerian Pertahanan dan 2 kakitangan awam Kementerian Pertahanan.
Majlis telah disempurnakan oleh Kapten Nurul Khartini binti Akui, Pemangku Ketua Cawangan Latihan Kesihatan dan Keselamatan Kerja. Beliau menekankan kepentingan melahirkan penyelia sebagai suri teladan dalam memastikan keselamatan di tempat kerja.
Kursus ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan, kemahiran dan kesedaran kepada para peserta agar dapat menjalankan tugas dengan lebih berkesan sebagai penyelia dalam bidang kesihatan dan keselamatan kerja. Antara modul yang dibincangkan termasuklah penilaian risiko, kawalan bahaya, pencegahan kemalangan, pemeriksaan tempat kerja serta pematuhan undang-undang keselamatan pekerjaan.
Dalam ucapan perasmiannya, Pemangku Ketua Cawangan menegaskan:
“Keselamatan dan kesihatan di tempat kerja bukan sahaja merupakan tuntutan undang-undang, malah ia merupakan tanggungjawab bersama bagi memastikan kebajikan pekerja, kelancaran operasi dan peningkatan produktiviti organisasi. Melalui kursus ini, kita dapat bersama-sama menyokong usaha kerajaan dalam mewujudkan tenaga kerja yang selamat, sihat dan produktif."
Inisiatif ini mencerminkan usaha berterusan untuk menyokong strategi nasional dan piawaian keselamatan pekerjaan, seterusnya memastikan penyelia terlatih dapat memainkan peranan penting dalam membudayakan amalan kerja selamat di organisasi masing-masing.
