RIMBA AIR FORCE BASE, Friday, 23 January 2026 - The Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Swimming and Water Polo Championship, featuring the Special Event in conjunction with the 64th Anniversary of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, was successfully held at the Rimba Air Force Base Sports Complex from 20 to 23 January 2026. The event was graced by the presence of the Commander of the RBAF as the Guest of Honour. Also in attendance were members of the RBAF Executive Committee, distinguished guests from external agencies, senior officers, officers, and personnel of the RBAF.
In conjunction with the RBAF's 64th Anniversary Special Event, two categories of competition were contested, namely the combined swimming event and the combined water polo event. These competitions involved two teams comprising RBAF personnel and representatives from external agencies, including the Royal Brunei Police Force, the Singapore Armed Forces, the Fire and Rescue Department, and the Prisons Department.
The Commander of the RBAF subsequently officiated at the prize presentation ceremony. In the RBAF-level championship, the Combined Team emerged as champions in the water polo championship and secured third place in the swimming events. Meanwhile, in the RBAF's 64th Anniversary Special Event, Team Alpha, represented by one military personnel from the Training Institute RBAF, was crowned team champion in the combined water polo event.
Overall, the championship aimed to enhance physical and mental resilience as well as strengthen unity and sportsmanship among RBAF personnel and external agencies, in line with the theme of the RBAF's 64th Anniversary, “United in Achieving the Nation's Aspiration".
INSTITUT LATIHAN ANGKATAN BERSENJATA DIRAJA BRUNEI MENGANJURKAN KEJOHANAN SUKAN RENANG DAN POLO AIR PERINGKAT ANGKATAN BERSENJATA DIRAJA BRUNEI BAGI TAHUN 2025
PANGKALAN TENTERA UDARA RIMBA, Jumaat, 23 Januari 2026 - Kejohanan Sukan Renang dan Polo Air Peringkat Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (ABDB) dan Acara Khas Hari Ulang Tahun Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei Ke-64 telah diadakan bertempat di Kompleks Sukan Pangkalan Tentera Udara Rimba, bermula 20 Januari 2026 hingga 23 Januari 2026. Hadir selaku Tetamu Kehormat ialah Pemerintah ABDB. Turut hadir ialah Ahli-ahli Jawatankuasa Eksekutif ABDB, jemputan-jemputan khas, Pegawai-pegawai Kanan, Pegawai-pegawai serta anggota ABDB.
Bersempena Acara Khas Hari Ulang Tahun ABDB Ke-64, dua kategori pertandingan telah dipertandingkan, iaitu acara renang gabungan dan acara polo air gabungan, melibatkan dua pasukan yang terdiri daripada anggota ABDB serta wakil-wakil agensi luar, termasuk Pasukan Polis Diraja Brunei, Angkatan Bersenjata Singapura, Jabatan Bomba dan Penyelamat, serta Jabatan Penjara.
Sesi penyampaian hadiah kemudiannya telah disempurnakan oleh Pemerintah ABDB. Bagi kejohanan peringkat ABDB, Pasukan Gabungan telah mencatatkan pencapaian membanggakan dengan meraih juara dalam kejohanan polo air dan tempat ketiga dalam acara renang. Sementara itu, dalam Acara Khas Hari Ulang Tahun ABDB Ke-64, Pasukan Alpha yang diwakili oleh seorang anggota tentera dari Institut Latihan ABDB telah dinobatkan sebagai juara pasukan bagi acara polo air gabungan.
Secara keseluruhannya, penganjuran kejohanan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan ketahanan fizikal dan mental serta memperkukuh perpaduan dan semangat kesukanan dalam kalangan anggota ABDB dengan agensi luar, selaras dengan tema Sambutan Hari Ulang Tahun ABDB Ke-64 tahun, “Bersama Bersatu Mencapai Cita Negara".
