Major Mohamad Safizan bin Ahmad was appointed as the Chief Instructor of the Training Institute Royal Brunei Armed Forces (TI RBAF) on 2nd February 2024. He joined the RBAF on 10th January 2005 at Recruit Company TI RBAF and was then enlisted in the Officer Cadet School, Singapore Armed Forces Training Institute, Military Institute (SAFTI MI), Republic of Singapore in September 2005. Upon commissioning as a Second Lieutenant in June 2006, he served as a Platoon Commander at Second Battalion Royal Brunei Land Force (2Bn RBLF).

Throughout his career in the RBAF, he held various appointments in Command, Staff, and Instructional posts, which include Platoon Commander, Mortar Officer, and Adjutant at 2Bn RBLF. He took up the post as Officer Commanding of an Infantry Company from 1Bn RBLF and subsequently at 3Bn RBLF. He also had the opportunity to hold the appointment as Officer Commanding of Command Company at 3Bn RBLF. After completing his Command and Staff College in 2021, he then held the post as Directing Staff Officer at School of Infantry RBLF before being appointed as Second In Command at 3Bn RBLF.

Major Mohamad Safizan had the opportunity to attend functional courses and participate in military exercises abroad, including those in Australia, Malaysia, and Republic of Singapore. 

He is happily married to Pengiran Nur Asyikin binti Pengiran Haji Johari and they have two children. In his leisure time, he loves to travel with his family. He is an avid cycling enthusiast, enjoys physical outdoor activities and likes to play chess.
