Warrant 0fficer 1 Haji Hashim Bin Hj Awg Besar @ Awg Mohamad was born on 31st May 1980. He was enlisted in the Royal Brunei Armed Forces on 6th January 1998. On 12th December 2025, he was assigned as a Regiment Sergeant Major of Training Institute Royal Brunei Armed Forces.  He started his career serving in A Company, Third Batalion, Royal Brunei Land Forces, in 1998.

Warrant Officer 1 Haji Hashim served into the Mortar Platoon in 2008, and he held the appointment of Company Sergeant Major (CSM) in 2020. In 2022, he held the appointment of Drill Sergeant Major, and finally, he was appointed as the Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM) of the Third Battalion of the Royal Brunei Land Force in 2024.

Throughout his career he attend various course, among others Paracounsellor Preparation Course, Warrant Officer Leadership and Management Course, Range Safety Officer and Supervisor Course, Platoon Sergeant Course, Pre-Intermediate English Course, Basic Silent and Precision Drill Course, Company Sergeant Major Course, Unit Assistant Security Officer Course, Slaughtering Course, Health and Safety Supervisor Course, RQMS Course, Multi-Rope Abseiling Course, A2–A1 Mortar Upgrading Course, A3–A2 Mortar Upgrading Course, Basic Class 3 Driving Course, Basic Mortar Course, CPO/MFC Course, Junior Warrant Officer Candidate Course, International United Nations Military Observer Course, Basic Signals Course, Briefing for Commanders on the United Nations and UNIFIL, and the Regimental Sergeant Major Course.

Warrant Officer 1 Haji Hashim has also participated in a Royal Brunei Armed Forces Contingent Mission as part of the United Nations peacekeeping force, namely the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), on 20 October 2016.

Warrant Officer 1 Haji Hashim was awarded the General Service Medal (GSM) in 2001, the Golden Jubilee Medal (PJE) in 2011, the Diamond Jubilee Medal (PJI) in 2021, the Meritorious Service Medal (PJK) in 2017, and the Warrior Gallantry Medal (PP) in 2023.​

He is married and is blessed with two children. He enjoys playing golf and engaging in sports such as hiking and recreational running.
