Lieutenant Colonel Nurulain Rawiah binti Haji Mohd Raub joined the Royal Brunei Armed Forces in December 2003 and was commissioned in 2005 after completing her officer training at Officer Cadet School, SAFTI MI, in Singapore. Upon her returned, she was promoted to Second Lieutenant where she served as a Staff Officer Grade 3 in Operations and Training at the former Support Services Royal Brunei Armed Forces.

 

She was promoted to Major in 2014 and was the Staff Officer Grade 2 in Foreign Military Liaison/ Defence Attache in Directorate Intelligence and Staff Officer Grade 2 in Manning and Records, Directorate Personnel. She was then promoted as Lieutenant Colonel in August 2024 and held the Commanding Officer in Military Trade School, TI RBAF. She also became the first woman to hold the appointment as Commanding Officer Military Trade School.

 

Throughout her service, she has attended various courses such as Basic and Advanced Manpower Operations Course in Singapore, Combined Defence Intelligence Research and Analysis Courses (CDIRAC) and Strategic Communication Workshop in Australia.

 

Lieutenant Colonel Nurulain Rawiah graduated with Master in Defence and Security Studies in 2022 at the Universiti Brunei Darussalam after completing the 10th Command and Staff Course at the RBAF Defence Academy in 2020.

 

In 2015, Lieutenant Colonel Nurulain Rawiah was awarded Pingat Indah Kerja Baik (PIKB) medal from His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.

 

Lieutenant Colonel Nurulain Rawiah is married and blessed with two children. During her free time, she enjoys reading and outdoor activities.​
