Major Hj Arslan bin Haji Yaakub started his military career in the RBAF on 04 February 1998 and commissioned as a Second Lieutenant from S.A.F.T.I., Military Institute Singapore on 23 July 1999.
He is a Land Force Officer by vocation where he has attended various Infantry courses in Malaysia, Singapore and United Kingdom. Apart from Infantry based courses, he has attended other courses such Junior Staff Course, Military Transfort Officer Course, Qualify Transfort Officer(QTO), Military Supervisor Transport and container management Course, Institution of Occupational and Safety (IOSH), Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) and Phycological Leadership Course.
His career highlights involved in various overseas exercises such as Exercise 'AZAM BERSAMA' (New Zealand), Exercise 'Flammin ARROW'(Singapore) in and Exercise 'MALBRU"(Malaysia). He also involved many Exercises in Brunei itself with Foreign Military namely; Exercise 'Maju Bersama with SAF, Exercise 'GREEN CANOPY' with USAF and Exercise 'BRUMAL' and The ASEAN Defence Minister's Meeting Plus (ADMM-Plus) Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief and Military Medicine Exercise as the Logistics Support Group incharges of Foreign Armies Accomadation, movement& Transport of HADR operation.
Major Hj Arslan bin Hj Yaakub has held Platoon Commander and Inteligent Officer post in 2nd Battalion, RBLF, Military Transport Officer in 3rd Battalion RBLF and Pusat Latihan RBAF. However, throughout his career he has had the opportunity of holding several posts outside Land forces domain, such as Intake Commander of Recruit Company(Intake 120,122&124) in Institute Training RBAF, Staff Officer Grade 2 Movement& Transport, Directorate of Logistics,MINDEF, Management &Training Officer in Logistics Depot RBLF and holding Officer in Command, Headquarters Company RBLF, Berakas Camp Housing Unit and as Berakas Garison Adjutant similtinaeouly for seven Years before holding current post as Officer in Command Admin Company Training Institue RBAF.
He was awarded with General service Medal, Silver Jubilee service Medal, Long Service Medal and Diamond Jubilee Service Medal.
He is married to Titik sukmawati and blessed with Three kids. He loves Soccer, Cycling, and reading.
