COMMANDER OF THE ROYAL BRUNEI AIR FORCE
439 BRIGADIER GENERAL (U) HAJI HASZAHAIDI BIN HAJI AHMAD DAUD, S.M.B., P.S.B., MNSS, MPPM, EPPI, FELLOW OF DSSC, GDSS, PSC (J), QHI
Brigadier General (U) Haji Haszahaidi bin Haji Ahmad Daud was appointed as the 16th Commander of the Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) on 10 January 2025. Previously, he served as the Deputy Commander of the Royal Brunei Air Force, a role he assumed on 01 April 2022.
He joined the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) on 24 May 1994 after graduating from the Royal Air Force (RAF) College Cranwell, United Kingdom, in 1995. He was commissioned as Second Lieutenant in July 1995. His early career started as a student pilot and was posted to No. 3 Squadron/Flying Training School to begin his flying training.
After completing his Basic Fixed-Wing training at No 3 Squadron, Training Wing, Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) in 1998, Brigadier General (U) Haji Haszahaidi bin Haji Ahmad Daud was then posted to No 2 Squadron to fly the Bolkow BO 105 as an Operational Helicopter Pilot. Years later, he attended the Helicopter Instructor Course (HIC) at Sembawang Air Base, Singapore Air Force. After graduating as a Qualified Helicopter Instructor in 2003, he returned to No 2 Squadron, Operation Wing, as an Instructor. A year later, he was appointed as Flight Commander Training. In October 2006, he was appointed as Officer Commanding to command No 2 Squadron until the end of March 2009, then posted to No. 3 Squadron/Flying Training Wing School as an Officer Commanding and Helicopter Examiner for Basic Helicopter Trainees.
Brigadier General (U) Haji Haszahaidi bin Haji Ahmad Daud has held various staff and command appointments, which include Staff Officer 2 (J3A) and Staff Officer 1 (J3A) at Joint Force Headquarters. In 2013, he was posted back to RBAirF, where he was appointed as Commanding Officer for Training Wing. In 2014, he was appointed as Head of the Inspectorate Unit. He assumed the appointment of Commander Operation Group in July 2018 before being posted to the Training Institute, RBAF in October 2020 as Commandant.
He is married to Hajah Rosnah bte Haji Matamit and is blessed with three children, Hajah Dina Qistina, Haji Muhammad Danish Qawi, and Dhia Qaireen.

DEPUTY COMMANDER OF THE ROYAL BRUNEI AIR FORCE
COLONEL (U) HISMAWADI BIN HAJI MOHAMMAD SAID
Colonel (U) Hismawadi bin Haji Mohammad Said was appointed as the Deputy Commander of the Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) on 10 January 2025. Born on 7 December 1971, he enlisted in the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) on 12 July 1996. He completed his six-month Basic Military Training at the RBAF Training Institute in Penanjong in December 1996. Following this, he pursued the Initial Officer Training Course at the Royal Air Force College, Cranwell, United Kingdom, in 1997 and was commissioned as a Lieutenant on 2 October 1997.
In 1998, Colonel (U) Hismawadi commenced his aviation career with basic flying training at No. 3 Squadron/Basic Flying Training School, RBAirF. The following year, he continued his rotary wing flying training at 124 Squadron, Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF). Over the years, he developed his expertise as a pilot, operating various aircraft, including the Pilatus PC7 MK II, AS-550-A2 Fennec, Bell 212, Bell 214ST, Bell 206B Jet Ranger, and S70A Blackhawk. He was certified as a Qualified Helicopter Instructor (QHI) by the RSAF in 2005 and as a Bell Maintenance Test Pilot (MTP) by the Bell Training Academy in the United States in 2007.
Throughout his career, Colonel (U) Hismawadi has held numerous significant appointments. In 2006, he was appointed Squadron Commander of No. 1 Squadron, followed by Squadron Commander of No. 2 Squadron in 2009, Squadron Commander of No. 63 Squadron in 2010, and Squadron Commander of the Flying Standard and Evaluation Squadron in 2012.
On 17 October 2014, he assumed the role of Commanding Officer of the Training Wing. Subsequently, in 2016, he was appointed Assistant Chief of Staff RBAirF, before becoming the Chief of Staff RBAirF in 2017. In March 2018, he further advanced to the position of Assistant Chief of Staff RBAF and on 19 April 2019, he was appointed as Head of Inspectorate RBAirF. He also served as Acting Commander Operations Group (COG) RBAirF from 1 July 2019 to 31 July 2020 and as Commander Operations Group (COG) RBAirF until 1 January 2022. Colonel (U) Hismawadi later assumed the position of Head of Joint Doctrine and Warfare Centre from 02 January 2022 including Acting Joint Force Commander RBAF from 26 September 2023 to 09 January 2025.
Colonel (U) Hismawadi’s academic achievements include attending the Australian Command and Staff College (ACSC), where he was awarded the Pass Staff Course (Joint), PSC (j), and a Graduate Diploma of Strategy in Defence Studies in 2009. He also participated in the Executive Development Programme (EDP) in 2016.
Colonel (U) Hismawadi is married to Pengiran Hajah Siti Norbaya binti Pengiran Haji Mohammad and is blessed with four daughters and one son.

COMMANDER OPERATIONS GROUP OF THE ROYAL BRUNEI AIR FORCE
LIEUTENANT COLONEL (U) MOHD HAIRY ERWANDY BIN HAJI RAYA
Lieutenant Colonel (U) Mohd Hairy Erwandy was commissioned as an officer on 3 September 1999 after completing his Initial Officer Training (IOT) No 179 at the Royal Air Force (RAF) College, Cranwell in United Kingdom (UK).
After completing his basic flying training utilizing PC7-MKII at No 3 Sqn, he then spent most of his flying career as a CN235 pilot (since 2003) at No 5 Sqn. To date, he is one of the longest serving pilots (2002-2019: 17 years) and holds the record of most flying hours on type (2842 hours). He also completed the Qualified Fixed-Wing Instructor’s (QFI) Course at Flight Training Tamworth (FTT), Australia (2009) to then assume the Flight Commander Training (FCT) post in 2011, and as Officer Commanding (OC) in 2013. He is also certified by Sapura Defence, Malaysia as an Instructor Operating Station (IOS) Level D Full Flight Simulator Training (2008). Furthermore, he is the first qualified Maintenance Test Pilot (MTP) on type obtained from Flight Test Center Indonesian Aerospace (IAe) (2016).
His operational experiences include; regional transport missions such as International Monitoring Team (IMT) in Mindanao, Philippines; and he was one of the crew for Brunei’s first Humanitarian Aid and Disaster Relief (HADR) operation codenamed, ‘Ops Badai Berlalu’ during the Boxing day Tsunami in Banda Aceh (2005). His second HADR mission was for the Haiyan Typhoon in Tacloban, Philippines (2013) where he was appointed as Air Mission Commander (AMC).
His career appointments, thereafter, included being Commanding Officer (CO) No 7 Wing (2017-2019). In a rapid succession of a career change, he then had a short stint as Staff Officer 1 Staff Duties/ Doctrine in the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) at the end of 2019 through to July 2020. At that same period, he was the first Chief of Staff (COS) for RBAF Task Force Support (TFS) during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. On this same year, he was appointed as Defence Adviser of UK where he spent three (3) years on tour (2020-2023). Upon returning, he assumed the post as Assistant Chief of Staff A7 (Training) at the RBAirF Headquarters commencing from July 2023. However, this tour was also short-lived as he was reappointed as Commander Operations Group (COG) at the Operations Group Headquarters since 23 January 2024.
His staff training includes; the 8th RBAF Junior Staff Course (JSC) (2008) and the Defence Academy (DA) RBAF Command and Staff College (CSC) 5th cohort (2015). It was at this junction that he achieved the RBAF Commendation Award and took the opportunity to complete a Master’s Degree in International Security (Mint’lSy) with Massey University, New Zealand (2016). He also completed his Executive Development Programme (EDP) for Senior Government Officials (SGO) organized by Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies (SHHBIDSS) and delivered by Lee Kuan Yew (LKY) School of Public Policy, National University Singapore (NUS) (2019).
He is married to Aliza and they have four (4) wonderful children; Hafiz (2002), Danish (2003), Dania (2005) and Zaara (2020). Hairy enjoys mountain biking, running and football in his pastime.

COMMANDER SUPPORT GROUP OF THE ROYAL BRUNEI AIR FORCE
COLONEL (U) PENGIRAN HASRUL ARIFFIN BIN PENGIRAN HAJI ROSLEY
Colonel (U) Pengiran Hasrul Ariffin bin Pengiran Haji Rosley is the Commander Support Group of Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) and has held this post since 1st November 2021 after his appointment as Chief of Staff of RBAirF. He started off from humble beginnings, enlisting into the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) on 20th August 1995, who then later became an Officer Cadet on 1st March 1996.
Ever since his enlistment into the military, he has been on track to become highly involved in the engineering field and has travelled far and wide to become properly qualified and well versed for the posts he would fill throughout his tour within the RBAirF. He attended his cadet course whilst pursuing his degree and in 2001, he graduated with an Aeronautical Engineering degree from Akademi Tentera Malaysia or later known as Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia. He later continued his learning phase by attending a 3 month On the Job Training (OJT) at the Canadian Force Base in Edmonton, Canada with the 408 Squadron followed by an 8-month Aerospace Engineering Officer Basic Course at the Canadian Forces School of Aerospace Technology and Engineering in Borden, Canada.
Upon his return from Canada, he began his engineering tour to various squadrons within RBAirF, starting with No. 5 Squadron and a year later added with second posts as Engineering Officer for No. 4 Squadron. In 2004, he was the Deployment Engineering Officer that led the engineering team to Acheh for the Tsunami Operasi Badai Berlalu and was appointed as Aide-de-camp (ADC) to the Deputy Minister of Defence (DMOD) in 2006 for a total of 2 years. He later returned to his parent unit as the Officer Commanding of Engineering Support Flight (OC ESF). In 2016, he held the post of Commanding Officer No. 5 Wing and after three years, he was appointed as RBAirF Chief of Staff.
Throughout his years of service, Colonel (U) Pengiran Hasrul Ariffin has been involved in various efforts to improve the engineering department and the organisation as a whole namely, upgrading the avionics system for RBAirF’s fleet, accomplishing an in-house C-Check for CN235, one of the major inspections for CN235, and some other modernization and upgrade of aircrew’s safety equipment. He attended his Junior Staff College and his Command Staff College in 2007 and 2013 respectively, at the RBAF Defence Academy Staff College and obtained a postgrad diploma in International Security from Massey University, New Zealand in the same year (2013). In August 2022, he graduated with a Master of Public Policy and Management distinction from the University of Brunei Darussalam with a twinning program at the McCourt School of Public Policy, Georgetown University, Washington DC. He was also a recipient of the Book Award for his outstanding achievement.
Colonel (U) Pengiran Hasrul Ariffin is happily married to Hajjah Hadijah binti Awg Md Nor and they are blessed with 5 sons: Ak Mohammad Haziq Amsyar, Ak Muhammad Asyraf Hannan, Ak Muhammad Afeef Hamizan, Ak Muhammad Haikal Aqmar and Ak Muhammad Azfar Hasyimi. In the midst of all the responsibilities, he is also quite active outside of the office as he enjoys playing football and mountain biking.

LIEUTENANT COLONEL (U) AZMIE ISKANDAR BIN ARIFFIN
Lieutenant Colonel (U) Azmie Iskandar bin Ariffin was appointed as the Head of Inspectorate Unit Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) on 2 February 2024.
Lieutenant Colonel (U) Azmie Iskandar enlisted in the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) in July 1996 and was commissioned in 1997 after completing Initial Officer Training at the Royal Air Force College Cranwell, United Kingdom. He earned his pilot wings in 1999 after completing basic flying training and rotary wing courses at No 3 Squadron (Flying Training School) RBAirF.
His first operational assignment was flying the MBB Bolkow BO105 helicopter fleet in 2000. In 2004, he was awarded as a certified Maintenance Check Flight pilot by the Eurocopter Flight Test Instructor and in 2005, he was awarded as a Qualified Helicopter Instructor (QHI) from the Republic of Singapore Air Force.
Throughout his career, he has held several positions, starting with Flight Commander Training, Flight Commander Operations, Officer Commanding No. 2 Squadron, Officer Commanding No. 63 Sqn Flying Training School, Light Observation Helicopter Standard and Evaluation Officer, Staff Officer Grade 2 Training, Headquarters, and Staff Officer Grade 1 Operations (Air), Joint Force Headquarters. From 2018 to 2020, he served as the 4th Defence Attaché to the People’s Republic of China and a non-resident Defence Attaché to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. Following his overseas tour, he was appointed Acting Commandant of the Defence Academy RBAF in 2021 and Deputy Commandant from January 2022 to February 2024.
In 2012, he attended the 2nd RBAF Command and Staff Course and in 2016, he attended the 13th Executive Development Programme with Liew Kuan Yew School of Public Policy for Senior Government Officials.
In 2011, Lieutenant Colonel (U) Azmie Iskandar was bestowed by His Majesty the Sultan Dan Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam with The Most Blessed Order of Setia Negara Brunei 4th Class (P.S.B.) and in 2014, he received the Long Service and Good Conduct (Military) Medal. In recognition of his efforts and achievements in strengthening defence diplomacy between Brunei Darussalam and the People’s Republic of China, he was awarded the Commemorative Medal by the Ministry of National Defense of the People’s Republic of China.
Lieutenant Colonel (U) Azmie Iskandar is married to Ismawati binti Pehin Bendahari Haji Abu Bakar and blessed with three children. He enjoys outdoor activities, workouts, reading and spending quality time with his family.

COMMANDING OFFICER NO.1 WING

MOHAMAD FAZLEY BIN HASABULLAH
Lieutenant Colonel (U) Mohamad Fazley bin Hasabullah was appointed as the Commanding Officer No. 1 Wing on 23 January 2024. He joined the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) in May 2004 after graduating from Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien College with an academic qualification of GCE Cambridge ‘O’ level.
He was then commissioned as 2nd Lieutenant from SAFTI Military Institute (SAFTI MI) in 2006. His early career started as Troop Officer at 233 Squadron, No 2 Wing in 2006. Subsequently, he continued his career at No 2 Wing as Troop Commander at 238 Squadron and 236 Squadron. In 2010, he started Basic Flying Training and Basic Helicopter Training and later he joined 11 Squadron, No 1 Wing in 2012 to pursue his operational flying career on Sikorsky Blackhawk S70-i.
Lieutenant Colonel (U) Mohamad Fazley’s military education includes completing his RBAF Junior Staff Course in 2016 and received a Graduate Diploma in Defense and Security Studies from Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF), Brunei Darussalam during his RBAF Command and Staff Course in 2020. Upon completion, he was selected as one of the recipients of the inaugural OBOE Endeavour Award, an Academic Excellence Program from the Australian Government, awarded to RBAF Officers who have graduated with outstanding results during the Command and Staff Course.
During his career, he has held several staff appointments in the RBAF, amongst them are Staff Officer Grade 1 Force Capability Development (Air) at the Directorate of Force Capability Development, Ministry of Defence from 2022 to 2024, Squadron Commander of 11 Squadron, No 1 Wing from 2020 to 2022, Staff Officer Grade 2 A3 2019 to 2020 and Flight Commanding Officer of 11 Squadron from 2017 to 2019.
He is married to Siti Khadijah binti Kafli and blessed with 2 children.

COMMANDING OFFICER NO.2 WING
MAJOR (U)
MUHAMMAD ADIF BIN HAJI ZAMAN
Major (U) Muhd Adif bin Hj Zaman embarked on his journey with the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) in 2005, starting as part of the 27th Intake of Boyswing at the RBAF Training Institute, where he completed his ‘O’ and ‘A’ Levels education. In 2009, he joined the Officer Cadet School in Brunei, becoming part of its 2nd Intake. Upon graduation, he was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant and posted to the Training Wing of the Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF), now known as No. 7th Wing RBAirF, where he took on administrative responsibilities.
By 2011, he had advanced to the role of Troop Commander of 238 Squadron, No. 2 Wing, Operations Group, RBAirF. He also served as the Admin Officer for No. 2 Wing, Operations Group, RBAirF. His leadership abilities were further recognized in June 2015 when he was appointed Wing Commander at the Officer Cadet School, Defence Academy RBAF, a position he held for four years. In July 2019, he transitioned to a staffing role as Staff Officer Grade 3 (Personnel & Administration) at RBAirF headquarters.
His career highlights include serving on an overseas mission, namely the International Monitoring Team (IMT-17) as Staff Officer Grade 2 Operations for the Brunei Darussalam Contingent between October 2020 and April 2022. This mission provided him with invaluable military experience and opportunities for professional growth. Following his return in April 2022, he assumed command of one of the air defense squadrons in No. 2 Wing, now known as Squadron 233, No. 2 Wing, which specializes in operating drones and drone jammers.
Throughout his distinguished career, Major (U) Adif has reached numerous milestones and continuously sought professional development. In 2010, he completed the Platoon Commander Course at the School of Infantry, Royal Brunei Land Force, which was crucial for his understanding of military unit leadership. He also completed the Air Defense Young Officer Course at RBAirF and the Ground Based Air Defence Young Officer Course in the United Kingdom, where he acquired advanced knowledge in air defense strategies and techniques.
Additionally, he completed the Intermediate Staff Course (ISC) in 2020 and the Command and Staff Course (CSC) in 2023 at the Defence Academy of the RBAF, underscoring his commitment to leadership and strategic planning.
He was awarded The Most Meritorious Service Medal (P.J.K) in 2024. In 2022, he received the Military Merit Medal, Military Civic Action Medal, and Military Commendation Medal from the Republic of the Philippines.
He is married to Lieutenant Commander Norlaila binti Major (Retired) Awang Harlip, and he enjoys golfing and running during his free time.

Lieutenant Colonel (U) Mohd Anwar Shah bin Napiah was appointed as the Commanding Officer No. 3 Wing on 12 June 2023. He joined the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) in September 2003 after graduating from Universiti Brunei Darussalam with a Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) Degree. He was then commissioned as a Lieutenant in July 2005 after his Initial Officer Training at Royal Air Force College Cranwell, United Kingdom. His early career started with No. 3 Squadron, Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) for Basic Flying Training and Basic Helicopter Training and completed his training in July 2008. He joined No 1 Squadron, Operations Wing where he did his operational flying on the Bell 212 helicopter.
Lieutenant Colonel (U) Mohd Anwar Shah’s military education includes completing his RBAF Junior Staff Course in 2009 and received a postgraduate diploma in International Security from Massey University, New Zealand during his RBAF Command and Staff Course in 2018. Upon completion, he was selected as one of the first recipients of the inaugural OBOE Endeavour Award, an Academic Excellence Program from the Australian Government, awarded to RBAF Officers who have graduated with outstanding results during the Command and Staff Course.
During his career, he has held several staff appointments in the RBAF, amongst them Staff Officer Grade 2 Capability Development Cell, RBAirF in 2014, Staff Officer Grade 2 Operations and Planning at RBAirF Headquarters in 2016, Staff Officer Grade 2 and Staff Officer Grade 1 Force Capability Development (Air) at the Directorate of Force Capability Development, Ministry of Defence from 2018 to 2021 and Staff Officer Grade 1 J3 Air at Joint Force Headquarters, RBAF from November 2021.
He is married to Dk Noorul Hariaini binti Pg Hj Abd Rahim and blessed with two sons and a daughter. He loves travelling and playing football.

COMMANDING OFFICER NO.4 WING
PG MUHAMMAD FARISAN BIN PG HJ METASSAN
Lieutenant Colonel (U) Pengiran Muhammad Farisan bin Pengiran Hj Metassan started his military career as a recruit of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) on 9 April 2001 before being promoted to Officer Cadet. Subsequently, he did his initial officer training course at the Officer Training School, Royal Australian Air Force College, Williams, Point Cook, Australia, and commissioned as a Second Lieutenant on 24 January 2003.
He is an Air Force Supply Officer by vocation and did his Supply Officer Training and Fuel’s Course at the Department of Specialist Ground Training, Royal Air Force, Cranwell, United Kingdom. Beyond logistics, he has undertaken a range of professional development courses, including the Junior Staff Course, Contract Management Course, Instructor’s Fitness Awareness Course, Systematic Approach to Training (SAT), Psychological Leadership Course, Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) Course, Lead Auditor Course, and Tetra Map Facilitator Course.
In 2019, he became the first Royal Brunei Air Force officer to attend the Air Command and Staff Course at the Royal Thai Air Force College, Thailand. In 2023, he participated in the 18th Executive Development Program by the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore (LKY NUS), in collaboration with the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Defence Strategic Studies (SHHBIDSS). Most recently, in 2024, he became an alumnus of the most prestigious 6th Senior Fellowship in Public Service Programme at LKY NUS, Singapore.
Lieutenant Colonel (U) Pengiran Muhammad Farisan has held various logistics appointments within the Logistics Wing of the RBAirF. He has also served in roles outside the logistics domain, including Wing Commander at the Officer Cadet School, Officer Commanding of 65 Squadron, Staff Officer Grade 2 for the Inspectorate of RBAirF, A7 (Training), and Logistics at the Directorate of Logistics, MINDEF. He is also the first local officer to hold the position of Second-in-Command at the Officer Cadet School, Defence Academy RBAF. Before his current appointment as Commanding Officer of No. 4 Wing, he was the first Commanding Officer of the School of Military Trade at the Training Institute, RBAF.
Apart from his duty in the country, he has been deployed on two overseas missions namely the Aceh Monitoring Mission (AMM) in Indonesia from 2005 to 2006 and the International Monitoring Team (IMT-12) in the Philippines from 2015 to 2016.
Other notable achievements include spearheading the first edition of the Royal Brunei Air Force Core Values Handbook project in 2013 and winning the first-ever football championship for the RBAF Football Team in the Brunei Super League 2015 as Team Manager.
In recognition of his contributions and dedicated service, he was awarded The Most Meritorious Service Medal (P.J.K) in 2006 and the Long Service Medal and Good Conduct (PKLPB) in 2022. Regionally, he was honored with the European Union and ASEAN Monitoring Mission Medal (2006), the Satya Lancana Dharma Nusa Medal from the Republic of Indonesia (2006), and the Military Merit Medal from the Republic of the Philippines (2016).
Lieutenant Colonel (U) Pengiran Muhammad Farisan is married to Noraizah bte Hj Jaáfar and is blessed with four children. A fitness enthusiast, he enjoys playing chess, football, and golf in his leisure time.

COMMANDING OFFICER NO.5 WING
MAJOR (U)
ARIF SYAZWI BIN HAJI MD IDRIS
Major (U) Arif Syazwi bin Haji Md Idris assumed command as Wing Commander of No. 5 Wing on 16 December 2024. He joined the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) and was appointed as an Officer Cadet on 26 May 2008, upon receiving the RBAF Scholarship to attend the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA). He holds the distinction of being the first Bruneian graduate of USAFA, earning a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Engineering on 23 May 2012 and subsequently being commissioned as a Lieutenant in the Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF). His foundational training as an RBAirF Engineering Officer continued at the Defence School of Aeronautical Engineering, Royal Air Force Cosford, United Kingdom, where he completed the Engineer Officer Foundation Training (Aerosystems), preparing him for the demands of Air Force engineering.

COMMANDING OFFICER NO.6 WING
MAJOR (U)
PENGIRAN MUHAMMAD MUFID BIN PEGIRAN HAJI UMAR ARIFFIN
Major (U) Pengiran Muhammad Mufid bin Pengiran Haji Umar Ariffin was appointed as the Commanding Officer of No. 6 Wing on 14th June 2024. He enlisted into the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) on 9th April 2001 and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant on the 03rd April 2003 upon graduating from Royal Air Force Cranwell, United Kingdom.
In the beginning of his career, Major (U) Pengiran Muhammad Mufid served in the Admin Wing (now known as No. 6 Wing) as the Motor Transport Officer until 2009. He later was appointed as an Admin Officer for the Operations Wing where he has held from 2009 until 2013. In September 2014, he was then deployed to the island of Mindanao, The Republic of Philippines to participate in the 11th International Monitoring Team (IMT) as the Deputy Team Site Leader for Brunei Darussalam’s Contingent. He was also appointed as the Staff Officer Grade 2 to Joint Force Commander in 2013, then appointed as the Staff Officer Grade 2 J5 (Air) and J7 (Air) during his tour under Joint Force Headquarters, Royal Brunei Armed Forces. In November 2021, he returned to the Royal Brunei Air Force and appointed as Deputy Commanding Officer before assuming his current appointment.
Major (U) Pengiran Muhammad Mufid’s military education includes completing his RBAF Junior Staff Course in 2010 and received a Graduate Diploma in Defense and Security Studies from Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF), Brunei Darussalam during his RBAF Command and Staff Course in 2020. He was awarded with Military Merit Medal from Republic of Philippines in 2015, The Most Faithful Order of Perwira Agong Negara Brunei 1st Class (PP) in 2018 and Long Service Medal and Good Conduct (PKLPB) in 2022.
Major (U) Pengiran Muhammad Mufid bin Pengiran Haji Umar Ariffin is happily married to Nurul Shukriah binti Haji Ali Rahman and blessed with 3 daughters and a son. He likes to play football and enjoys running to maintain his fitness.

COMMANDING OFFICER NO.7 WING

MOHAMMAD KAISAN BIN HAJI LUDIN
Major (U) Mohammad Kaisan bin Haji Ludin assumed the esteemed role of Commanding Officer of No. 7 Wing within the Royal Brunei Air Force on the 2nd of February, 2024. His journey within the military commenced on the 14th of May, 2006, upon his graduation from the Royal Air Force Cranwell, United Kingdom, upon which he was duly commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in 2008.
His professional odyssey began as a student pilot at No. 63 Squadron, Flying Training School, Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF). Following the successful completion of his Basic Flying Course and Basic Rotary Course within the same squadron, he transitioned to No. 1 Squadron, Operations Wing, where he operated Bell 212 aircraft from 2011 to 2014. His tenure at No. 1 Squadron saw him entrusted with the responsibilities of Squadron Admin Officer and Flight Commander Operation.
In 2015, he assumed the role of Flight Commander Training at 63 Squadron, subsequently undertaking Qualified Helicopter Instructor Training with 124 Squadron, Singapore Air Force (SAF), culminating in his graduation in May 2016. Upon completion, he resumed his duties as Flight Commander Training at No. 63 Squadron, later ascending to the position of Officer in Command, which he held for three years until 2019.
In November 2019, he pursued the Qualified Flying Instructor Course with BAE Systems, Tamworth, Australia, and upon its successful culmination, he was assigned to 15 Squadron as Flight Commander Training (FCT) until 2021. Thereafter, from May 2021 to October 2023, he served as the Officer in Command at 39 Squadron, before assuming his current role as Commanding Officer of 7 Wing in February 2024.
Beyond his military duties, he finds solace in family life, being happily married to Rafidah binti Hj Junaidi and blessed with two children. Furthermore, he enjoys indulging in the recreational pursuit of golf.

COMMANDING OFFICER NO.8 WING
LIEUTENANT COLONEL (U)
MUHAMMAD ZABRI BIN ABDUL RAHMAN
Lieutenant Colonel (U) Muhammad Zabri bin Abdul Rahman (born on 23rd November 1981) currently serves as the first Commanding Officer of the newly established No. 8 Wing in the Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) which is a training-focused wing that prioritizes personnel development, leadership skills, and operational knowledge. He joined the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) in May 2005, holding an HND in Multimedia Technology and Applications from London Metropolitan University. Internationally trained, Lieutenant Colonel (U) Muhammad Zabri completed his officer cadet training at the Royal Australian Air Force’s Officer Training School in Melbourne, Australia, in 2006.
With over 18 years of dedicated service to the RBAF, Lieutenant Colonel (U) Muhammad Zabri has held a diverse array of command, instructional and staff positions across the RBAF. He began his military career in Air Defence as a Troop Officer with 233 Squadron (Rapier) Air Regiment, before taking on the role of Administration Officer for the Air Regiment in 2010.He then served as the Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to the Deputy Minister of Defence in 2010 before returning to the RBAirF, where he took on the role of Staff Officer 2 in Occupational Health and Safety within the RBAIrF Inspectorate Unit from 2014 to 2017, implementing key safety reforms. From 2018 to 2020, he further broadened his expertise as a Directing Staff at the Leadership and Management Center of the Defence Academy (DA) RBAF, where he played a key role in training and developing emerging leaders.
In his senior staff roles, Lieutenant Colonel (U) Muhammad Zabri served as Staff Officer Grade 2 to the Chief of Defence Force (CDF) RBAF before advancing to the role of Military Assistant to CDF RBAF from 2020 to 2024, where he provided direct support to CDF RBAF in managing high-level defense matters.
Lieutenant Colonel (U) Muhammad Zabri’s educational accomplishments include his completion of the RBAF Junior Staff Course in 2014, followed by a Graduate Diploma in Defence and Security Studies from DA RBAF in 2020 as part of the RBAF Command and Staff Course.
In recognition of his academic excellence, he was awarded the prestigious OBOE Endeavour Award by the Australian Government, a distinction granted exclusively to outstanding graduates of the Command and Staff Course. Lieutenant Colonel (U) Muhammad Zabri is married to Sa’adiah binti Haji Maraji, and they are blessed with three children. He has a keen interest in football, strength training and reading.

WARRANT OFFICER 1 (U)
PENGIRAN HAJI REDZAINI BIN PENGIRAN HAJI AHMAD
Warrant Officer 1 (U) Pengiran Haji Redzaini bin Pengiran Haji Ahmad was appointed as the 13th Sergeant Major of the Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) on 27 February 2025. Prior to this, he served as the Base Sergeant Major of No. 6 Wing, Support Group RBAirF, from 2024 to 2025.
He began his military career in 1998, undergoing six months of initial training. Upon completion, he was assigned to the Air Defence Squadron, RBAirF, as a Detachment Commander. During his service there, he attended various professional development courses including the Rapier Operator Course, Intermediate Air Defence Course, Detachment Commander Course, and the All Arms Air Defence Instructor Course. He also took part in the Airguard Exercise in 1999.
In 2005, he joined the Parachute Airborne Tactical Delivery Unit (PATDU), RBAirF. His airborne training includes the 164th Basic Airborne Course and the 65th Basic Rigger Course in Singapore, as well as Basic Freefall, Jump Master, Jungle Rescue Team, Dispatcher, and Para Counsellor & Advanced courses. He was subsequently appointed as a Parachute Jump Instructor.
In 2014, he was selected as the Wing Sergeant Major (WSM) at No. 3 Wing, Operational Group. He has participated in parachute demonstration teams during Brunei’s National Day celebrations, the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Anniversary, and international events including in the Philippines. He also served as a Joint Dispatcher in Brunei-led Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) operations alongside ASEAN countries.
Most recently, he attended the Command Senior Enlisted Leader (CSEL) Programme at the Avalon International Airshow 2025 in Melbourne on 24 February 2025.
WO1 (U) Pengiran Haji Redzaini is married and blessed with five children and two grandchildren. He enjoys motorcycle riding and camping in rural areas.
