BASE DEFENCE

Protects MUARA naval BASE, personnel, and critical assets from threats on land, sea, and air. It integrates physical security, force protection, surveillance, and rapid response to ensure the Navy’s operational bases remain secure and mission-ready at all times.

BAND

The Royal Brunei Navy Band is a professional military ensemble that enhances naval tradition, ceremony, and public engagement through music. It represents the Navy at official events, diplomacy functions, and national celebrations, showcasing discipline, precision, and teamwork.

MILITARY TRANSPORT

provides the essential mobility and logistical support that keeps naval operations moving. It ensures the safe, timely, and efficient movement of personnel, equipment, and supplies across bases, training areas, and operational locations.

REGIMENTAL POLICE

enforce discipline, uphold military regulations, and maintain good order across naval units. They serve as the internal policing element of the Navy, ensuring that standards, conduct, and security are preserved at all times.

LOGISTICS

Logistics in the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) is the lifeline that sustains fleet operations. It ensures that ships, personnel, and missions are fully supported with the right resources, at the right place, and at the right time. From supply to maintenance, logistics enables the Navy to operate, deploy, and fight effectively.

PAY

responsible for managing all financial matters that support sailors, officers, and naval operations. It ensures accurate, timely, and transparent administration of pay, allowances, claims, and financial records across the fleet.

MARINE ENGINEER
MECHANICS & TECHNICIANS

ENGINEERING is a technical field responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of Royal Brunei Navy vessels (Mechanical & Electrical) and carrying out maintenance to support effective operational tasks.

WEAPON ENGINEER
MECHANICS & TECHNICIANS

Responsible for managing, maintaining, and operating the ship’s combat systems, ensuring the fleet’s weapons and sensors remain mission-ready at all times. This branch integrates engineering expertise with combat capability, forming the technical backbone of naval warfare.

MARINE SIGNALLER

The role is to ensure safety through tactical, strategic, and information technology (IT) measures. It also involves using various communication networks, including satellite, LAN/WAN, radio networking, and warfare manoeuvring methods such as visual Morse code by flashing light and tactical flag signalling.

WARFARE

Plays a critical role and is skilled in all aspects of naval warfare operations, navigation, and ship safety (ship security). At the same time, they are able to carry out all cleaning and maintenance tasks onboard the ship.

CLERK

A field capable of working onboard ships and in suitable departments within the Royal Brunei Navy Base. Responsible for updating and maintaining all paperwork and personnel data, both in physical files and through systematic recording.

NAVSAG

The Naval Surface Action Group (NAVSAG) is a special unit of the Royal Brunei Navy. This unit is responsible for conducting underwater inspections of vessels, as well as search and rescue operations. They also perform challenging tasks such as mine clearance diving, explosive ordnance disposal, and combat diving.

COOK & STEWARD

The primary role is to manage the Royal Brunei Navy’s catering requirements (onboard ships and in the mess). This includes cooking and preparing healthy meals while maintaining high standards of cleanliness in all aspects.
