IBTE 2 - Copy.jpegBRUNEI MUARA, Tuesday, 02 June 2020 – Nine personnel from the RBAF will commence their training on the IBTE Foundation in Technical Education course. This course, delivered by the IBTE Training Academy and based on an ASEAN competency framework, is one of three new courses focusing on instructor development. The Foundation course is the pre-requisite for the Level 3 Certificate in Technical Education and in turn the Level 4 Diploma. These three courses now form the tent poles of an instructor development pathway in the RBAF.

The RBAF personnel have been through a rigorous selection process to get to this stage. They have demonstrated that they have the attributes and attitude required to be an effective instructor, which will now be combined with a 6-month course that will equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills. Once they have successfully completed the course, they will be able to provide the highest quality instructing to soldiers across the RBAF along with training the new instructors.
The course is an excellent opportunity to develop and professionalize the instructor cadre across the RBAF. It aims to incentivize and reward those who are capable of becoming effective instructors and to facilitate an organizational learning culture that promotes continuous improvement. All of the candidates have been funded through the Ministry of Defence, demonstrating another example of investing in the personal and professional development of their personnel.
