LIEUTENANT COLONEL AMIRUL ADLY BIN HAJI ALI

Lieutenant Colonel Amirul Adly bin Haji Ali was born in 1974. He joined the Armed Forces in 2000 and was commissioned from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, United Kingdom in August 2002.

He began his career by serving in the Infantry Company 3rd Battalion Royal Brunei Land Force as a Platoon Commander and 2IC Company. As he progressed as an infantry officer, he was posted to the Recruit Company as the Training Officer in 2005. In the same year, his service was called upon for an operational tour as a member of the second batch of the International Monitoring Team in Mindanao, The Republic of Philippines for a year. The mission accorded him enormous operational experience. He was awarded the ‘Kagitingan’ badge by the Armed Forces Philippines as recognition for his tour. Additionally, he was bestowed the Meritorious Service Medal (P.J.K) by His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in recognition for his dutiful service to the country.

Following this deployment, he returned to serve in the Infantry as the Officer Commanding of the Special Task Platoon. Thereafter, in 2009, as the adjutant of the 2nd Battalion Royal Brunei Land Force. Later the same year, he was given the opportunity to develop his Staff duties abilities when he assumed the post as a desk officer at the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies, Ministry of Defence as a Scholarship Officer for the Ministry of Defence Scholarship programme. During this appointment, he had the opportunity to be extensively involved in policy matters and had oversaw and reviewed some policy changes with regards to the Ministry of Defence and Royal Brunei Armed Forces scholarship scheme. This opportunity allowed him to view things at the strategic level as well as be exposed to administrative mechanisms. He was promoted to Major in 2009, during his tenure in this establishment.

On 1st July 2012, he was posted to 1st Battalion Royal Brunei Land Force for his commanding role as the Officer Commanding of C Company. In 2014, he was given another instructional role as the Intake Commander at the Officer Cadet School, Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces. Towards the end 2015, he was then posted as the Deputy Chief Instructor at the Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces Headquarters. A year later, he assume a command post as the Battalion Second in Command of the 2nd Battalion Royal Brunei Land Force and remained for nearly 2 years.

On 12th November 2018, Lieutenant Colonel Amirul Adly assumed command as the Commanding Officer of Officer Cadet School and was duly promoted to Lieutenant Colonel on 23rd November 2018.

On 1st September 2020, he was posted to Training Institute Royal Brunei Armed Forces and held the position as the Chief Instructor and on 02 February 2024, he posted to Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces become Deputy Commandant. Throughout his service, he has attended various career courses amongst which are Platoon Commander Course (Training Institute RBAF), Basic and Advance Manpower Operation Course (SAFTI-MI Singapore), Battalion Tactics Course (SAFTI-MI Singapore) and Command and Staff College (CSC Defence Academy RBAF) in 2015, Executive Development Program (LKY NUS-SHHBIDSS) in 2019. In the same year as well, for his service, Lieutenant Colonel Amirul Adly received the Most Blessed Order of Setia Negara Brunei, 4th Class (P.S.B) in 2019.

Lieutenant Colonel Amirul Adly is married to Colonel Norsuriati and blessed with a daughter and a son. His interests include a variety of sports, browsing the internet for the latest news and travelling and has passion in decorating his residence.​

COMMANDER EDY JOFREN

Commander Edy Jofren graduated from Britannia Royal Naval College, UK in 2002 and has successfully completed various Professional Military Courses in the UK and Australia such as International Sub-Lieutenants Course (UK – 2004), Ship Communications Officers Course (UK – 2006), Electronic Spectrum Management Course (Australia – 2007) and International Principal Warfare Officers Course (UK- 2009). ​

In terms of Academic Qualification, Commander Edy Jofren is a Law Graduate (LLB) from the University of Sussex, UK and has completed his Command and Staff Course in 2013 (Brunei) where he attained a Masters( MSc) of International Security. Commander Edy Jofren is also a Senior Fellow of the Lee Kuan Yew Senior Fellowship in Public Service (SF5) of National University Singapore.

Throughout his career Commander Edy Jofren has held various Command Appointments such as Commanding Officers of KDB IJHTIHAD and KDB DARULEHSAN. He has also served various Staff Appointments ranging from Intake Commander of Officer Cadet School, Staff Officer Operations at Royal Brunei Navy Headquarters, Head of Capability at Royal Brunei Navy Headquarters, Military Assistant to Deputy Minister of Defence and Staff Officer Joint Operations (Navy) at Joint Force Headquarters.

Commander Edy Jofren is married to Dr Jacqueline Kamaluddin and is blessed with two daughters. He enjoys Golf, Jogging, Mountain Biking and Photography.

​​MAJOR DK NUR IZZAH NAZURAH BINTI PG HJ MOHAMMAD

Major Dk Nur Izzah Nazurah binti Pg Hj Mohammad was appointed as the Head of the Leadership and Management Centre on 9 August 2024. She joined the Royal Brunei Armed Forces in April 2005 and was commissioned in December 2006 after completing her training at the Officer Cadet School, Singapore Armed Forces Training Institute Military Institute (SAFTI MI), Republic of Singapore.

Throughout her career, Major Dk Nur Izzah Nazurah has held a variety of staff and instructional appointments. She began as Staff Officer Grade 3 (Operations and Training) at Support Services RBAF, later serving as Staff Officer Grade 3 (Training) at the Training Institute Royal Brunei Armed Forces. In July 2012, she joined the Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces, where she undertook several roles, including Training Officer of Officer Cadet School, Directing Staff at the Leadership and Management Centre from 2015 to 2019, and Academic Advisor at the Defence Academy RBAF Headquarters from 2019 to 2023. Before assuming her current role, she served as Staff Officer Grade 2 to the Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces.

Major Dk Nur Izzah Nazurah has also pursued professional development through various courses, including the Junior Staff Course (Defence Academy RBAF), Para Counsellor Course (SAF), Basic and Advanced Manpower Courses (SAFTI MI), and the Command and Staff Course (Defence Academy RBAF). She holds a Master of Defence and Security Studies from Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), which she completed in 2023, following her Graduate Diploma in Defence and Security Studies, as part of the Command and Staff Course.

Major Dk Nur Izzah Nazurah was awarded the Pingat Indah Kerja Baik (PIKB) in 2017. Beyond her professional commitments, she is an avid sports enthusiast, engaging in volleyball, basketball, and running. She is also a passionate follower of Formula 1 Racing.

ACADEMY SERGEANT MAJOR DEFENCE ACADEMY ROYAL BRUNEI ARMED FORCES

WARRANT OFFICER 1 HAJI RUDY EYAN RADZIDDILAH BIN HJ BIDIN

Warrant Officer 1 Haji Rudy Eyan Radziddillah bin Hj Bidin was born on the 14th January 1979. He was recruited in the Royal Brunei Armed Forces on 28 October 1996 to undergo his 6 months of basic military training. On 16th May 1997, he was assigned as a rifleman to his first unit called B Company, Second Battalion Land Forces RBAF.

Throughout his career, he had undergone various courses and appointment such as 2ic section commander and was promoted to Lance Corporal in 1999. He then attended Drill Instructor Course in the following year. On 25 April 2001, WO1 Hj Rudy attended weapon coaching and instructor course. In 2003 he was posted to recruit company training institute and was promoted to Corporal. He then attended Platoon Sergeant Course and began his career as a platoon Sergeant at A Company Second Battalion, Royal Brunei Land Force. In 2006, he was promoted to Sergeant and became tactic instructor at tactic training wing at Training Institute RBAF (TI RBAF). In 2008, Warrant Officer 1 Hj Rudy attended Recce Cadre Course conducted by Royal Gurkha Rifles (RGR) and was then posted to Officer Cadet School, Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (OCS, DA RBAF) in 2009 until 2016. During his tour at OCS, DA RBAF he was promoted from Staff Sergeant to Warrant Officer 2. In 2016, he was posted to Other Rank Development Wing, School of Infantry, TI RBAF as instructor/Training Warrant Officer. Lastly in 2020, WO1 Hj Rudy was posted back to Officer Cadet School as the School Sergeant Major (SSM) was promoted Warrant Officer 1 in 2021. He was appointed as Academy Sergeant Major of DA RBAF on 16th September 2022.

He became a Staff Sergeant on 26 November 2009. In 2012, he was selected as one of the members in Contingent to deploy with Malaysia Battalion for UNIFIL Operation in South Lebanon as a Troop Sergeant. He was again promoted as Warrant Officer on 1 July 2014 and was appointed as an Intake Senior Wing Sergeant Major. On 14 February 2018, he was promoted as School Sergeant Major in Officer Cadet School. Currently, he holds the responsibility of an Academy Sergeant Major in Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces.

Warrant Officer 1 Haji Rudy Radziddillah bin Haji Bidin is married to Idawati bte Haji Asmat and is blessed with four children. In his free time, he enjoys running, swimming, and cycling.
